Resetting Wordpress Admin Password
Filed Under (tips) by Jeff Yung on 13-02-2010
Have you ever tried your hardest and can't remember the Wordpress Aministrator password?
If you are wondering, this is the user account that allows you to post to your blog. You also use this account to review guest posts etc…
It happened to me… and I'm technical and have been good at remembering the passwords; as I've been setting them to a common one.
I know, I know… It's not a good item to do that! It's a big security hole waiting to happen.
But hey, I have lots of accounts to remember. I guess in times like these that the Roboform Pro comes in handy…
I think it threw me off when I had to move my hosting to another one by combining the two. I had almost lost the database for this blog! And as a result, I completely lost the aministrator password.
Anyhow, if you ever had to reset the password, here is a pretty nice step by step way to do it manually…

Remember to select "MD5" from the dropdown after you have setted the password. Otherwise it would be saved as plain text and anyone who hacked into your DB or your hosting company will have easy access to your blog!
Good luck and enjoy!
