I want to wish everyone in the U.S. a safe and Happy July 4th! Enjoy the fireworks!
My wife and I will be taking my daughter to the New England Aquarium this morning. Well, as soon as they decide to wake up that is!
And then we will probably go to the Brocton Fair tonight for fireworks.
Last year I took my wife and my daughter to the 4th of July fireworks in Boston. I’m not impressed. We went there around 9:30pm or something and waited until 10:30 for the fireworks to start.
It only lasted a mere 1/2 hour! And we didn’t get a good spot either, so missed a lot of the fireworks. It’s a bust to say the least!
So I will try the Brockton Fair today. I went there almost 10 years ago while I was still in college. It’s a fair with losts of rides and games for the kids. And then there’s the fireworks at night; not sure what time but it’s probably around 7pm. Not bad at all. Everyone sat in open gress area with fireworks in plain view.
I wonder why I have not went back there. I guess viewing the fireworks was never my biggest priorities in life!
Hope this year would be better…
Here’s an update. I drove the family to NYC yesterday. I have Friday off from work. And my mom needed some merchardises for her Chinatown fair which was rescheduled for next Sunday, the 12th.
I can’t believe I drove the whole day from 7am to 11pm! I was actually suprised that I got to NYC in record time; about 3 and 1/2 hours! But then hit traffic one we reached NYC. What a waste…
Drove around Brooklyn and Manhattan looking for merchardises for my mom. And the rest of the family spent the entire day shopping in Chinatown lower Manhattan.
It’s was hell! All I got was a lunch in NYC! and Lots of driving around! The plan was to have dinner before we leave. But can’t really find parking. I’m not going to spend $20 just to park for 2 hours! I guess I’m cheap that way… haha
So we decided to head home and ate McDonald’s on the way back. Not much choices of food while you are on the road, really…
Here’s couple of updates:

Alex Jeffreys and his new free ebook: Newbies Nightmare.
As some of you who have followed my blog may have known, Alex Jeffreys of http://www.MarketingWithYou.com, is currently my coach on starting an internet marketing business. And I can say that he is a great coach and a heck of a person too.
If you had read some of my past posts, you would have known that I have not been doing much with some of my coaching instructions. Now, just to be clear, it has nothing to do with what a coach Alex Jeffreys is - he’s one of a coach! But it was due to my own personal issues - mainly my marriage is falling apart…
But last month I decided to push forward and went on to meet Alex Jeffreys and my fellow students on a trip to Las Vegas. On that trip, I networked with my fellow students and learn what they do and how they are doing in their own online ventures.
To be honest, I’m still in the inaction stage! I’ve a full time job as a computer programmer and then I was still working the weekends in a Chinese restaurant. But I have decided to quit the weekend job and try to give this online marketing a try.
One of Alex Jeffreys’ student, Dean Holland, was the inspiration! The guy basically was mentioned throughout Alex Jeffreys’ coaching to us. He took action and on the first week that we came back from the Vegas trip, he fired his boss! And his is releasing a coaching program too!
So, I took that hint and told my restaurant boss that June is my last day working there too!
So I need to get some things to happen…
While at the Vegas event, Alex Jeffreys revealed that he is coming out with a free ebook, similar to the Guru Dream that he came out last November. He used that to get out his marketing messages and add huge number of students to his coaching program, which I also signed up to… It’s a great read!
The Guru Dream basically told the story of how we should never listen to the hype that gurus put out. We should basically not sell with hype and hard selling. We should learn MARKETING! As Alex Jeffreys’ model is "He’s not marketing to you, he’s marketing with you!".
Following his advice, I was able to increased my Twitter follower from 125 to nearly 1000, as of today June 24th, 2009. What a difference a two weeks made!
If you see some of the recent post, I have been living Alex Jeffreys’ model. Always try to help people. The idea is that the more you give, the more you will receive. And give away your best material and you will get back huge… I think it is working!
Last week June 16th, 2009, Alex Jeffreys released the Newbies Nightmare. You can go there and optin to get it free.
I recommend that you do go get it. I read it today. 40 pages and I read it under two hours.
This ebook is different than the Gurus Dream. Alex Jeffreys actually put into some of the materials that he shared in our coaching course. So if you get it, you can have a glimse into what the coaching program is about.
Alex Jeffreys covered information overload, buying vs. applying, and of course internet selling vs. internet marketing!
I will leave it to you to find out more about this ebook: Newbies Nightmare.
Go get it and if you like it, just come back here and post a comment! I love to hear what you think about the book.
To your success!

Summary of the Las Vegas trip with fellow Alex Jeffreys students.
It’s been half a month since I came back from my trip to Las Vegas and this is the first update… As you can see I have been slacking! big time…
I have been on Twitter alot lately. See my tweets: http://twitter.com/JeffreyYung
I arrived at Boston Logan airport around 2pm to get to my flight, which was at 6pm. I left home that early because I want to try the subway and Silver Line. It got me there within 1/2 hour to 45 minutes! Wow, really fast. It would have taken me 1/2 just to drive there.
Then I waited and waited… didn’t leave Boston until 7:30pm! Stupid… they canceled the incoming flight and everyone had to waited for the next one coming from LA. I guess airlines are doing that now to save on money if a flight is not up to compacity.
So I got the Las Vegas around 9:45pm PT. Very uneventful flight! Which is what I want… haha. The Airbus is really nice airplane.
Checked in but had trouble finding out where Alex Jeffreys is holding his group meeting/seminar the next morning! The front desk of New York New York had no idea. But this lady found out for me later.
I went and grab something to eat at this Chinese restaurant, right at entrance of the elevator to my room. Got a Mai Tai too.
Went to bed that night. There would be no gambling for this dude until the last day of the stay!
Woke up early and went to the room where Alex Jeffreys is holding the seminar. Upon arrival, there’s already a line of people there! Conversing amoung themselves…
Alex Jeffreys was late. They said they saw him with other people last night around 4am!
So the event went underway and we shared what we learned in Alex Jeffreys coaching program. Alex Jeffreys also shared many useful tips on how to reach your audience online. Definitely nice tips. Went to lunch with the group.
Also I finally meet Jit Uppal and Lance Tamashiro (Blog Invasion System), I was on both of their lists. Jit was sharing his listbuilding tips using giveaways to build a list and then use the imadswap.com site to exchange with other marketers. This way you could grow your list over time. And monetize by sending them to residual income programs. Nice.
Also finally saw Dean Holland too. He was mentioned by Alex Jeffreys during the coaching session to have made money for promoting Alex’s program. He was in bad shape; from lack of sleep! But by Saturday he was afresh…
By the way, Dean Holland announced that he would quit his job the first thing he went home. And he did! Great job, Dean. And he’s launching his blogging coaching program too.
That night I decided to watch the Tournment of the Kings at Excalibur on Firday night after the meeting. It was the same show as I saw it back in 2000. But this time I got a headache! All of a sudden after the show, I have a bad case of headache. I wonder is due to the bad air quality inside the show.
And the service was bad for my section. I ended up sitting in the section for the evil king. I think my section was the last to served dinner! And the guy didn’t even give me bread! So overall not a good night!
The next day, I still had a slight headache but manageable… Went to Alex Jeffrey’s 2nd day meeting. He shared how he’s mapping out his last coaching launch that we signed up back in November 2008. And then a fellow student was chosen to share her project. She basically wanted to promote a friend’s book/seminar event deal. We each offered advice and come up with suggestions on how she could approach her launch.
I offered the suggestion that she could use the book launch method - which would involve getting contributing JV partners to offer free bonuses and make it a book launch event… I think she took that idea. cool…
We ended the day around 3pm and had testamonials done for Alex Jeffreys on his coaching… And then a couple of us walked around each of the hotels and casinos. Mostly walking around and talking. Had some drinks on the bar. For dinner we met and had buffet.
The people I hung out with are pretty nice. This included JT Martin, Gary Simpson, Dean Holland, Dan, Gary Parkes, and Lesley Morgan. Lesley is interesting. She said she grabbed a client on Friday during her break! Nice. Online marketing meets offline business. This is hot lately.
That night, I hung out with Alex, Lance and his wife, Jit, John, Dean Holland, and JT at the Excalibur bar listening to a band that was playing there. Lance was trying to get his wife to go on stage to sing. I guess that she wanted to sing on stage. But she didn’t end up doing it. Finally I left around 2am!
I spend Sunday walking around Las Vegas casinos again. My flight was at 10pm PT. I finally got my first lunch buffet done. I ate at the manadaly Bay. Really classy and good food!
I ended the trip playing some blackjacks… Didn’t have good luck, ended the trip down…
I got home the next morning at 6:30am ET. This time the flight has a bit more turbulance and make it safe and sound though…
So overall this was a good trip. Got lots of networking done. For any seminars that you go to, you have to do networking. Otherwise it is pointless. Sometimes you uncover a really good strategy or formed a JV partnership that could earn you thousand in one promotion. so I would defintely encourage you do attend seminars.
Well, that’s my update for this trip… My coach Alex Jeffreys is ready to release a free report this Friday… more details to follow. And he’s releasing his Marketing with Alex 2.0 next week; it’s the coaching program I was in.
-Jeff
Las Vegas and Alex Jeffreys
I’m about to head out to catch my flight to Las Vegas from Boston. I’m extremely excited while at the sametime nervous! I don’t like flighting…
Anyhow, this should be a nice four days trip for me to not only be getting some R & R, but also learn from my coach and mentor Alex Jeffreys. I have been in his coaching program since last November. It has been interesting.
I learned that Alex Jeffreys over-delivers on contents. I am still amazed that his coaching sessions lasted 5+ hours, from 7pm ET to midnight and somtimes to even after 1am ET!
Of course, I have mentioned that I haven’t done much with my online venture. Mostly due to me hanging onto my 9-5 day J.O.B. It is scary with the economy as it is. I know that I can make it online, but it just my personal life is a mess. I really to clean that up and start afresh!
So, I am hoping this weekend would be a new starting for the rest of my life, a new beginning if you will.
Please come for more updates in the days to come and also hopefully you will witness a new "Jeff" in the months ahead!
Take care,
-Jeff
Lack luster performance from the Celtics gave the Orlando Magic another day…
It is hard to believe that after a great combat in Game 5 to pull ahead, 3-2, the Celtics basically let the Magic roll all over them in the closing minutes of Game 6.
Take 22 turnovers! Since when have you seen that many turnovers by Boston in this years Playoffs? Maybe in some of the those hard fought Series with Chicago? Not sure…
Actually, all along I have suspected that there would be a Game 7. Hey, good for the econemy, right?
Meanwhile, it is killing us Boston fans!
I wished that they closed the Series and done with Orlando last night. But Game 6 is now history.
Let’s hope there would be a Game 7 like what they put onto the Bulls in the last Series.
I still believe they can play defense up to their levels. And if they do, the Celtics are hard to beat.
Orlando was basically handed the game last night. They couldn’t get a lead until late 3rd quarter! And did you see how many missed free throws or half hearted attempts by the Celtics to score in the 4th quarter?! Orlando can be beaten… that’s all I can say.
And also, they need the two games layoff to recoup their energy to prepare for the Cavs, who have been rolling over their opponents in their last two Series. They are scary but can be beaten if you defend them!
Let’s see what Game 7 will bring us. Hopefully one step closer to Banner #18 - that would be nice!
Go Celtics!
