Pop goes the 4th

Check these out:

Just came home from watching the fireworks in Marina Bay near Boston.

Originally I had intented to go to the Brockton Fair. But since the wife decided to take off to her dinner trip without me or my daughter, we decided to stick around in Boston Common so that my daughter can play in the play ground.

They have water for kids to play with too. It was in the skiing ring.

What a day! It’s 77 degrees and am glad that there was a cool breeze today.

The New England Aquarium trip was nice. My daughter was dashing off and there and couldn’t keep her in one spot! There were just too many fishes to look at. There’s the 80 years old turtle. And then there were three sharks. Interesting how the sharks would not go after the other fishes or the human feeders. I guess they would be fine as long as they are fed!

We also saw how the sting ray eats. The human feeder was able to have the ray facing us and showed the eyes and mouth as it is feeding. Interesting look. Too bad I didn’t bring a camera to take pictures.

So we came home at around 7pm…

We took off to Marina Bay at 9:15. Got there at the bay side overlooking the Boston skyline. From afar…

There were a few fireworks here and there but nothing major. At that point it was a bit chilly. I was wearing a short sleave shirt. So we decided to go home at about 10:15pm.

When I was pulling out, I noticed couple of cars were turning into another area of the parking lot. So I decided to check it out. It turned out to be a better spot!

And there was a car that was playing the Boston Pops in the radio! So we have music to enjoy the night… It sure beats going to the Charles river and fight the crowd to get a spot!

The fireworks went off at 10:37pm. It was nice. Sure it wasn’t the best that I have ever seen, but it was good. My daughter met a new friend there too! She went around and chase the other girl around the area. She had fun… Which is what matters.

So overall it was a nice 4th of July. It was also the first 4th that I have not have to work. I have just quitted my weekend job. I told my restaurant boss that June was my last day there. Bad economy and lousy in the restaurants… So I decided that I better do something with this online thing and make things happen!

Plus, I wanted to spend more time with my daughter, especially on weekends. Having to work fulltime weekdays and then worked both weekends is not the way to raise a kid!

I think it was seeing how Dean Holland, another of Alex Jeffreys’ student, had quitted his job in June that had me decided to make a change. I can no longer work on a dead end job. To be honest, the weekday job is not a walk in the park either! I have to made it in the internet!

Wish me luck! Also I hope you had a good 4th of July!
