After witnessed a lack luster performance by the Celtics, I am not happy. I knew from past playoff series that they have a hard time winning on the road. But last night’s game was just bad. Both Pierce and Garnett probably combined to only 15 points. Good thing that Ray Allen finally found his shooting touch the last few games. This Finals games just doesn’t feel like it have any Playoff intensity.
It is a good thing that the LA Lakers are not much better. The Celtics were just not playing well – not offensively nor defensive either.
After they are up 2-0, I was thinking that they could at least steal one in LA and then come home and close the series. But from the look of it, this will be 2-2 tie on Thursday.
Anyways, the next game is Thursday at 9PM EDT. Let’s hope both of the other Big Three will step up and take one home.

It is final! The Boston Celtics have remained perfect at home. They are now 2-0 in the 2008 NBA Finals.
Before the game, the main story has been that of Paul Pierce and his quick return from what appeared to be a series ending injury. Paul was on the hard wood and was in pain in the 3rd quarter of Game 1 when Perkins landed on his leg during rebuilding action. Paul was carried off by two team mates. The TV showed him in a wheel chair… Then a minute later, he reappeared from the tunnel that lead to the locker room. He then proceeded to score two back to back three pointers.
Due to his quick recovery, many have questioned the event. He’s even called a “faker”. Honestly, I don’t care either way. Being a Celtics fan, I am glad that he returned to play. If you wanted to finish the Finals, after about 10 years in the league without making it to the Finals, I would keep the pain from my mind and play through it too. Then again, I am not a world class athlete…
Before the game, most of my co-workers basically were putting the Celtics down – even after the Game 1 victory. They said the Lakers are younger and more athletic, better shooters, etc… Well, if you have watched the game, you saw that the Celtics basically beat the Lakers in scoring in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters to build a 24 point lead. They played smothering defense. And Leon Powe was having a great individual game. Good for a guy who have played very little in the Cavs series in the Conference Finals.
That showed that Defense do win Championships! Everything pointed to a blow out. I was thinking what my co-workers are thinking now!!
Then at less then 2 minutes in the 4th quarter, The Celtics allowed the Lakers to come back! They Roared back. My heart was sinking at that point… You could imagine what my co-workers are thinking at that point… It’s not good.
Well, the last minutes basically turned into Kobe v.s. Pierce. Each tried to finish the game in their team’s favor. Paul won! So is the Boston Celtics, who survived 41 points by the Lakers to remain perfect at home in the NBA Finals. And they said the Celtics can’t close a game and put their opponents aways!
The next game is on Tuesday at 9PM EDT… See you there. Go Celtics!
